지난 1월26일 이탈리아의 버가모(Bergamo)도시 의회에 속하는 Centro Famiglia에서 ‘시리아와 평화를 위한 초종교적 기도’를 목적으로 행사가 진행되었다.

‘시민사회의 평화: 여성이 평화로 가는 길’ 이라는 주제로 열린 이번 행사에서는 약 25명의 사람들이 참석한 가운데 ‘인생의 본질적인 문제’ (인간 타락의 동기와 영향)에 대한 강의로 진행되었다.

또한 여성연합 활동보고 시간에는 ‘여성연합 20년의 활동과 GWPN 프로젝트’ 소개를 담고 있는 비디오를 상영했고, 인권과 여성의 권위, 가치 그리고 세계평화에 공헌하기 위한 그들의 독특한 특징에 대한 PPT 슬라이드를 보여주었다.

다양한 분야와 여러 기관 (역사, 초종교, 심리학, 변호사, 이민자들의 문화적.환경적 지원을 위한 요소) 의 지도자들인 참석자들은 강의를 듣고 매우 흥미로워 했고 다음 행사에 참석하기를 원했으며 참석자 중 한 명은 여성연합 신입회원이 되었다. 참석한 지도자들은 하나님을 믿고 자신의 분야에서 전문적인 역할을 담당하며 개인적인 존재 또한 영적인 존재이므로 외적인 건강과 더불어 영적인 성장도 필요하다는 점에 공감하고 있었다. 이러한 기회를 통해 우리는 로마에서 이들과 함께 GWPN (세계여성평화네트워크)를 만들 수 있게 되었다.

An afternoon event was held with the purpose of an interreligious prayer for the country of Syria and for peace at the “Centero Famiglia” which belongs to Bergamo City Council on January 26.

This event held under theme of Peace in the civil community: “Women on the Way to Peace” gathering about 25 participants.

The WFWP presentation was: “Women on the way to peace”, with a video presenting WFWP activities in 20 years, the project of GWPN, and a power point about human rights and women's dignity and value, and their peculiar characteristics to contribute to world peace.

About 30 people attended (only 5 were members), all other guests were leaders from several organizations from various fields, holistic, interreligious, psychological, advocacy, nutritional, of support to immigrants, cultural and environmental.

The guests were inspired by the speech, and asked to keep in contact for more information especially  about our next events, and one wanted to become member of WFWP.  All these leaders believe in God and are all professionals working for the wellbeing of people starting from the consideration that the individual is also a spiritual being, and thus has the need to follow healthy and altruistic principles for his care and spiritual growth. There is a chance to create a Global Women Peace Network in Rome, through the cooperation with them.
