케냐 여성연합은 1월 18일~19일, 에큐메니칼 분과(세계 교회주의)에서는 브라마 쿠마리스 세계영성대학교의 성소 개관식 및 초종교 평화 세미나를 개최하였다.

세미나의 초청 강사는 브라마 쿠마리스 세계영성대학교의 그레이스 로페즈 박사로 참석자들에게 “긍정적인 생각의 힘, 영성과 치유를 통해 자기 개선을 도모할 수 있다”는 메시지를 전하였다. 이에 참석자들은 짧은 시간이었지만 자기반성과 명상의 시간을 통해 감동을 받았다.

또한 빈곤퇴치 기구의 에샤 데팔라 강사는 ‘이슬람교도의 관점에서 평화의 의미’에 대한 강연을 하였고, 옴웨어 에큐메니칼 분과(세계 교회주의)위원장의 폐회사로 전체 행사를 마감했다.

2011년 첫 행사로써 좋은 출발이었고, 앞으로 유익한 세미나를 개최 할 계획이다.

WFWP Kenya - Interfaith Activities Report

On the 18th of January the Committee on Family, Marriage and Ecumenical Affairs organized a program to visit the Center of the Brahma Kumaris Spiritual University during the occasion of the opening of their sanctuary which will serve as a retreat and conference center.

On January 19, we held an Interfaith Peace Event and guest speaker Dr. Grace Lopez from the Brahma Kumaris Spiritual University gave a very inspiring message on spirituality and self-healing which leads to self improvement through the power of positive thinking.

She also conducted a short session on self reflection and meditation. It was so inspiring and fulfilling to all the guests that the time went very fast without our realizing.

Mrs. Aisha Daffala from Exit Poverty gave a short speech on the meaning of Peace from the Islamic perspective, and closing remarks were given by Mrs. Wivine Omware, chairperson of the Committee of Family, Marriage and Ecumenical Affairs.

It was a good way to start the year 2011 and we promised to hold more of such seminars.
