칠레여성연합은 3월9일 베로니카 양로원을 방문하여 어르신들께 음료와 케이크를 대접하려고 했으나 불행히도 지진으로 인해 양로원 환경이 열악해져 문을 닫았다. 양로원에 계시던 어르신들은 주변 다른 기관으로 나누어 보내어졌다고 한다.

4월에는 지진의 진원지인 Cauquenes라는 지역학교에 의류와 통조림 제품, 의료약품 등을 모아 전달하였다.

5월12일에는 을 맞이하여 선물과 차를 준비하여 대접하고 시를 낭독하는 등의 활동을 하였다.

6월2일에는 2010년 2월27일 일어난 지진으로 큰 피해가 있었던 산 안토니오 지역을 방문하였고, 오말 베라 시장의 요청에 따라 의류, 의료품, 통조림 등 을 모아 공식적으로 전달하였다.
또한 지역의 지진과 쓰나미의 피해상황을 살펴보던 중 유치원생부터 8학년까지 87명의 학생과 8명의 선생들이 있는 학교를 방문하였다.
칠레 여성연합은 피해가 컷던 이 학교를 지원하기로 결정하고 학교에 보낼 학용품과 수업자료들을 모으고 있는 중이며, 9월에는 학교를 다시 방문하여 물품들을 전달 할 예정이다.

Chile Activities, March-June 2010

On March 9 this year, we visited the participants of the Nursing Home Santa Veronica. We held a campaign to collect milk, and prepared a meal for 55 senior citizens, which consisted of sandwiches, tea/coffee and cake. Unfortunately, this Nursing Home was affected by the earthquake in February and was in very poor condition, so it had to be closed and almost all the seniors had been sent to other institutions.

In April we conducted a campaign to collect clothing, canned goods and medicines to be donated and delivered them to a school in the seventh region, to a commune called Cauquenes, the epicenter of the earthquake zone.

On May 12 we celebrated Mother's Day. We had tea and gave a present to each of them. After words of greetings, some associates recited poems, involving about 30 people.

On June 2, we paid a visit to the Commune of San Antonio, a town also badly affected by the earthquake (Feb. 27, 2010). The mayor had requested help from the WFWP, so we collected clothing, medicine and canned goods, and delivered them to Mayor Omar Vera in his office. We also took a tour around the district and saw the damage left by the earthquake and tsunami. As Women's Federation, we visited a school in a poor area, with 87 students in total, ranging from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade and eight teachers for the entire school. WFWP decided to support this school, and for this we are collecting school supplies and learning material to deliver on the next visit scheduled in September.
