지난 3월 6일, 파라과이 여성연합은 수도 아순시온의 세계평화통일가정연합 파라과이 본부에서 50여명이 모인 가운데 ‘세계 여성의 날’과 ‘파라과이 여성의 날’을 기념하는 행사를 가졌다. 이날 행사는 엘리자베스 얀센의 사회로 시작하여 환영인사,  여성연합 활동영상과 ‘평화의 다리’ 자매결연식 영상을 시청, 로즈위타 길리아노 사무총장(남미 여성연합)의 여성연합의 창설목적, 활동 소개, 자매결연식의 의미에 대해 설명, 파라과이 본토여성들과 이민여성들 간의 자매결연식 순서로 진행되었다. 자매결연식이 끝난 후 일본에서 온 선교사들의 노래와 라리사 우세도의 파라과이 전통춤 등 축하공연을 함께 즐기며 이 날 행사를 성공적으로 마쳤다.

South America-Paraguay Holds a Commemorative Event for International Women’s Day and Paraguay Women’s Day and an Establishment of Sisterhood Ceremony

On March 6, WFWP-Paraguay held a commemorative event for ‘International Women’s Day’ and ‘Paraguay Women’s Day’ at the Paraguay Headquarters of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, located  in the capital city, Asuncion, with more than fifty participants in attendance. The event was opened by the MC, Mrs. Elizabeth Janssen, followed by welcoming remarks, the viewing of a video on the activities of the WFWP and the ‘Bridge of Peace’ sisterhood ceremony, after which Secretary-General Roswitha Guiliano (WFWP-South America) introduced the founding purpose of the WFWP and its activities, and explained the meaning of the sisterhood ceremony. Lastly, the sisterhood ceremony between native Paraguayan women and immigrant women was held. After the ceremony, the participants enjoyed the celebratory performances together, which included songs sung by missionaries from Japan and a Paraguayan traditional dance performance given by Mrs. Larissa Ucedo, and thus the event was brought to a successful conclusion.
