네팔 여성연합 임원들은 2014년 1월 9일-11일까지 3일간 포크라 시 카스키 지역에서 ‘농촌지원 프로그램’을 진행하였다. 네팔 여성연합은 107명의 참석자들에게 비료제작 및 토양검토 방법 교육과 오이, 아스파라거스, 시금치 등 야채 씨앗을 나눠주었다.

이날 교육은 네팔 농업부 농업개발사무소의 선일 판데이(Sunil Pandey) 농업 전문가가 진행하였으며, 지원 프로그램과 함께 마을 주민들에게 여성연합의 창설자 및 활동에 대한 소개도 하였다. 또한 카스키 지역을 담당할 현장 코디네이터 서비트리 포카렐(Sabitri Pokharel)과 마히나 구룽(Mahina Gurung)의 임명장 수여식을 가지며 현장활동이 지속적으로 이어질 수 있도록 하였다. 앞으로 주변 농지와 마당에 친환경 야채재배와 비료제작을 통해 생계를 이어갈 수 있도록 마을 주민들을 돕고자 한다.

Asia-Nepal, Pokhara Agriculture Support Project

On January 9-11, 2014, the WFWP-Nepal Board Members organized an Agriculture Support Project called ‘Composed Fertilizer, Soil Checking and Seed Distribution’ Bharatpokhari-7, Kaski, Pokhara, Nepal. WFWP-Nepal gave out vegetable seeds and taught 107 participants  how to make composed fertilizer and check the soil. 

Mr. Sunil Pandey, Agriculture Expert from the Agriculture Development Office, is the main Trainer and Lecturer and provides educational programs for local villagers.

Along with this program, we also introduced our Founders and WFWP activities. Then Mrs. Floramie Paudel, WFWP-Nepal Secretary-General, officially appointed the 2 local WFWP-Kaski Coordinators, Mrs. Sabitri Pokharel and Mahina Gurung, to continue our activities in the Kaski area. Through this project we could help villagers to plant good and organic vegetables in their farms and their own backyards, and it will be one way of increasing their livelihood.
