지난 2011년 12월 14일 영국지부는 중국 대표단과의 미팅을 가졌다.

미티 토마 회장(영국지부)은 여성연합을 소개할 목적으로 중국 대표단을 Lancaster Gate에서 맞이했다.

21명의 남성과 여성으로 구성된 중국 대표단은 중국의 각기 다른 지방에서 모였으며 대부분이 여성과 아동의 건강관련 영역에서 근무하는 원장들이었다.

그들은 영국에서 조사하고자 하는 여성의 인권 보호, 국가 사회적 안보, 여성을 위한 수당(혜택) 시스템, 에이즈 퇴치 방법과 어머니의 건강 향상을 위한 접근법, 그리고 가족의 분쟁과 여성 폭력 감소를 위한 측정법 등  확실한 주제에 대한 정보를 요청했다.

여성연합의 고문인 주엔 다비-페린씨는 (Ms. Juen Darby-Perrin) 주제들에 대한 더 자세한 정보와 핵심 자료 조사를 위해 웹사이트를 안내했다.

또한 혼전 순결에 대한 교육과 사회에서 그 가치를 받아들이게 하는 교육만이 에이즈를 극복할 수 있는 유일한 방법이라고 설명했다. 또한 가정내의 분쟁과 폭력을 줄이는 방법은 부부간에 서로를 존중하고 상대의 가치를 인정하는 길이라고 설명하며 용서와 수용의 방법을 배워 긍정적으로 문제를 풀어가고 서로를 이해해야 한다고 말했다.

여성연합 영국지부와 천주평화연합의 특별고문인 잭 콜리씨는 (Mr. Jack Corley) 가정의 가치와 가정의 참된 의미와 목적을 사대 심정권을 통해 이야기 했다. 잭 콜리씨는 중국 전역에서 광범위한 분야에서 근무했기 때문에 중국 대표단들과 친밀한 관계를 유지할 수 있었고, 특별히 그가 강의를 위해 사용한 파워포인트에 중국어로 표기 되어있는 것을 보고 매우 즐거워했다. 강의 내용은 그들의 주의를 이끄는데 충분했기 때문에 흐트러짐 없는 자세로 앉아 시선을 고정되었고 강의가 끝난 후에 질의 응답의 시간도 가졌다.

미팅은 즐거운 분위기 속에서 친선의 의미로 선물교환을 한 뒤 단체사진을 찍으며 이날의 행사는 마무리 되었다.

Report on the meeting between Chinese Delegates and W.F.W.P. 14-12-2011

Mrs. Mitty Tohma, the President of the British WFWP welcomed the Chinese Delegation to Lancaster Gate and introduced the aims of the WFWP.

Women’s Human Rights are very important to the  WFWP.  the  organisation  was  founded  in April, 1992, and the WFWP activities have been developed in four main areas.

Firstly we are concerned with Family Ethics, because we consider the family to be the cornerstone for peace in the community and nation.

Secondly we are dealing with Poverty Eradication and Service programmes as seen in our ongoing projects worldwide.

Thirdly we are working with Peace and Reconciliation activities, particularly through the Bridge of Peace Ceremony, as well as projects with the United Nations and different international N.G.O’s. Finally we are holding seminars encouraging Global Women’s Leadership in public office.

 
The 21 Chinese Delegates present, both men and women, were all senior directors in the Women’s and Children’s Health sector, coming from many different provinces in China. They had requested information about certain topics that they were researching in the United Kingdom.

There was Women’s Rights Protection; National Social Security / benefits system for Women; Approaches to realising targets for combating HIV/Aids and for improving women’s maternal health; as well as measures taken to reduce family disputes and violence to women.

June Darby –Perrin, who was introduced as an advisor to the WFWP, addressed the above issues, outlining the main points and giving web sites for further research. She explained that the only way to satisfactorily overcome the AIDS crisis was to teach Abstinence before marriage and to make that value acceptable in society. Also she mentioned that disputes and violence in the family could only be reduced if couples were taught to respect and values each other; learn to forgive and accept each other and understand how to resolve conflicts positively.

Mr. Jack Corley, the special Advisor to WFWP and Director of UPF in Britain, spoke next on Family  Values,  explaining  the  true  meaning and purpose of the family through his talk on the Four Realms of Heart.

Mr Corley worked extensively in China so was able to form an excellent rapport with the delegates.   They   were   delighted   with   the slides he used in his Power Point Presentation as they were illustrated with Chinese writing. The  content  really  grasped  their  attention, they straightened up in their seats, eyes lighting up, as they listened with great concentration to the lecture, also photographing the slides. Afterwards they commented enthusiastically on the need for such  content  to  be  given  in their  country,  and were delighted when Mr Corley gave the content of his lecture to the Delegation’s leader on a memory stick.

The meeting ended with much warmth and goodwill as gifts were exchanged and the delegates, one after another, posed with the speakers for photographs. Refreshments were provided and after the group photograph the delegates left for their coach waving goodbye as they walked along.
