- 카메룬지부 고아원에 식량 기부

2011년 11월 27일 일본 자원봉사자 게이코 회원이 카메룬에 평화 활동을 위해 도착했다. 케이코 회원은 카메룬 여성연합 회원들과 함께 포움보트(Foumbot)에 위치한 고아원 베인페이터를 (Bienfaiteur)를 방문하여 고아들을 위해 식량을 기부 했다.

- 케냐지부 아프리카의 뿔에 있는 나라들의 가뭄 피해주민을 위한 기부

9월 7일, 일본 여성연합 자원봉사자인 모리 사치코 회원과 수잔 코네 회장(아프리카 지부)은 케냐의 나이로비에 있는 유엔 난민 고등 사무소 UNHCR (United Nations High Commission for Refugees)에 방문하고 아프리카의 극심한 가뭄으로 인해 많은 피해를 입은 지역 사람들에게 식품 등을 기부하고 그들을 위로했다. 일본 자원봉사자들은 기부금을 통해서 개최국인 케냐 내에 가뭄과 기근으로 인해 소말리아로부터 계속해서 생겨나는 난민들에 대해 지구촌 가족으로서 안타까움을 표현하고 싶어했다.

기부금은 케냐 나이로비의 UNHCR의 대표인 킬리안 클레인쉬밑 (Kleinschmidt)씨에게 전달 되었다. 기부자들의 선한 행동과 희생에 감사를 전했으며, 여성연합의 목표와 목적에 대해 소개를 받고 매우 감동했으며 더 많은 동참자들이 가치 있고 의미 있는 활동에 동참하기를 소망했다.

-남아프리카 봉사 프로젝트 진행

2011년 8월 9일, 남아프리카 여성연합에서는 요하네스버그에 있는 알렉산드라 토너쉽에 있는 투송(Thusong)청소년 센터를 방문하여 봉사 프로젝트를 주관했다.

젊은이들을 포함하여 여성연합 회원들이 ‘위하여 살자’라는 정신 아래 청소년 센터를 청소하는데 동참하였으며 함께한 젊은이들 모두에게 정말 행복한 시간이었다.

WFWP-Cameroon:

On the 27th November 2011 Ms. Keiko from Japan arrived in Cameroon for activities related to Peace and on the 1st December she and other WFWP-Cameroon members visited the “Bienfaiteur” orphanage in Foumbot where they donated food stuff to Orphans.

Donation to the Drought in the Horn of Africa:-Kenya

On the 7th September, Ms Sachiko Mori a WFWP-Japan volunteer and Mrs Susan Kone the WFWP IVP for Africa visited the UNHCR office in Nairobi with a mission to make a Donation in support of the refugees who have been greatly affected by the Drought in the Horn of Africa. The Donation was from the WFWP-Japan Volunteers who wanted to express their empathy and solidarity with the people of Africa who are in the verge of Drought and famine thereby igniting a big flow of refugees from Somali into Kenya the host country. The Donation was given through the UNHCR Deputy Representative in Nairobi, Kenya, Mr. Kilian Kleinschmidt who thanked the Donors for their sacrifices and goodwill. It was also a moment where the UNHCR representative was briefed about the Goals and objectives of the WFWP and he was very impressed and called for more partnership for the worthy cause.

WFWP-South Africa

On August 9th 2011, the WFWP-South Africa held a Service Project where they visited the Thusong Youth Centre in the Alexandra Township, in Johannesburg, it was a happy moment for all the members and the youth who also participated in cleaning their center an occasion which promoted the spirit of Living for the sake of others.
