9월 24일, 아르헨티나 여성연합은 부에노스 아이레스에서 ‘여성과 초종교 협력’이라는 주제 아래 우루과이 지부 회원들의 방문 기간 동안 행사를 개최하였다.

각기 다른 종교적 믿음과 전통을 대표하는 5명의 여성들이 토론회의 패널로 구성되었다.

이번 행사의 목적은 다른 종교적 배경을 가진 지도자들과 서로간의 협력을 증진시키는 것이었다. 참석자들은 ‘여성들은 어려움을 극복하고 함께 일할 준비가 되어있다’는 토의결과를 바탕으로 아르헨티나 여성연합은 ‘평화의 다리’ 자매결연식을 진행했다.

다양한 인종의 여성들이 참여한 자매결연 행사는 분홍색 작은 초에 통일초로부터 불을 옮겨 밝히며 보라색과 하얀색 풍선의 다리를 건너 서로의 마음을 나누며 포옹을 하며 자매결연서에 서명을 했다.

이 같은 행사는 2010년부터 계속해서 이어져오고 있으며 이날의 자매결연식은 매우 감동적이며 기쁜 분위기 속에 진행되었다.

Latin America Sisterhood ceremony

On September 24, during a short visit of a group of Uruguayan "women of faith ", the Argentine WFWP organized in Buenos Aires a joint event on the topic " Women and Interreligious Cooperation". The panel of exposition was composed by 5 women from different religious beliefs and traditions : Evangelic, Mormon, Islamic, Bahai, and Unificationist.

The aim was to promote a seed of cooperation among people and leaders from different religious background. The result of this panel was that the women are ready to overcome the difference and work together.

On that occasion the Argentine WFWP held the sisterhood Ceremony “Bridge of Peace” . Women from different countries and religions that were attending the event, joined this ceremony with deep emotion. Two by two they approached one another, holding little pink candles that they lighted together on the fire of the Tongil Candle that was on a table, under the symbolic bridge made with violet and white balloons.

After embracing and sharing their hearts, the recently created couples of sisters signed the Sisterhood Ceremony Book , created to register the name of all participants in the different Ceremonies that we held since 2010. The ceremony was really very moving and joyful.
